Are the Chicago Blackhawks Waiting Too Long?

Today the Columbus Blue Jackets announced that defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov will be held out due to trade value protection. This is the second defenseman held out for these reasons (Jakob Chychrun).

This should tell Kyle Davidson that deals are close with at least 2 defenseman on the market. There has been no word or indication that the Chicago Blackhawks are close to any sort of deal. Bo Horvat and Vladimir Tarasenko have already been dealt and it looks like 2 defenseman are moving in due time.

That's 2 spots in each category (defense and forwards) that will now (likely) move before Kyle Davidson trades one of his assets (Jake McCabe, Patrick Kane, Sam Lafferty most notably). Certainly we've heard some rumors about these players, but nothing tangible to this date.

When will Chicago start to make some moves? To this date (2-14), I don't know.... but what I do know is this: We better start moving.
