In a somewhat expected move before the trade deadline, Kyle Davidson and the Chicago Blackhawks have moved Anthony Beauvillier to the Nashville Predators for a 2024 5th round pick, Only question is now... will this be the start of a busy next 24 hours for Chicago?
Beauvillier was traded to Chicago from Vancouver for a conditional 5th round pick in 2024 making this a net zero gain. The orginal move was in lieu of the Hawks' termination of Corey Perry's contract admist a slew of injuries to their core of forwards at the NHL level.
A former first round pick by the New York Islanders, Beauvillier will now have a chance to help solidify a Predators team that has made some noise of late in terms of their playoff projections. Their new forward had just 6 points (2g, 4a) in 23 games for Chicago overall, as well as 14 points in 45 games this season (Canucks, Blackhawks).
The phrase "third times the charm" could be in effect here for the Quebec native as he will be in the rare scenario in skating for 3 different teams within 1 season. At 8-1-1 in their last 10 and now comfortably holding onto the 8th spot in the Western Conference, Nashville could now look to parlay this move into a bigger transaction before tomorrow's deadline.
As for the Blackhawks, expect at least 1 more move of a similar nature in terms of return. Most of the "chatter" amongst insiders has surrounded Colin Blackwell and Tyler Johnson.
