With the Blackhawks season not trending in the right direction, i think it's time to start putting this season in the rear view and start building for the future. Although the team has not played to the level we all expected this season, they do have a lot of intriguing pieces who can help contenders around the league.
The more obvious player to be moved, and has already been in rumors with the Oilers, is Marc-Andre Fleury. Flower has been tremendous this season given how bad the Blackhawks have played in front of him. With a 14-15-3 record, .910 save percentage, and 2.85 goals against, Flower will surely be shopped by the Blackhawks whether they decide to deal him or not. This trade would only be able to be done if Fleury tells the team to trade him, otherwise he will finish out his 18th NHL season in Chicago.
Probably the next most likely player to be dealt would be defenseman Calvin De Haan. De Haan has been with the Blackhawks for a few years now after being traded to the Blackhawks in the 2019 offseason. He has been heating up as of late, mainly defensively, but he has also been putting some points up on the score sheet. De Haan is going to be a hot commodity during the deadline, as his play style can fit with just about any contending team in the league.
One player that I think could be on the move that could surprise some people is Dominik Kubalik. The 26 year old left winger has had a rough season, like most Blackhawks players, but has picked his play up as of late. With Kubalik still being young and also having an extra year on his contract before being a restricted free agent, he could bring a decent sized package back for a Blackhawks team that lacks prospects. He is definitely the least likely player to be moved that I named, but i wouldn't rule this possibility out.
Who do you think will get moved at the deadline and who do you think will remain on the Blackhawks?
