The Blackhawks acquiring Warren Foegele wouldn’t hurt. The Oilers have been trying to move him to free up cap space for a while, so if all else fails and they still can’t move him closer to the start of the season, they might package him with a draft pick for almost nothing. At $2.75M AAV, bringing him in with a mid round pick for future considerations for a couple seasons wouldn't hurt at all. If he doesn’t pan out, he could easily be moved for another draft pick.

After being traded to the Oilers in exchange for Ethan Bear, Foegele played a full 82 games while adding 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points. He was a solid player in the Oilers bottom six, but will likely take a spot in the NHL lineup away from Dylan Holloway. Moving Foegele has been rumored as the Oilers main goal this off-season in an effort to free up some money for other moves they want to make, so trading him with a 3rd Round Pick for future considerations to the Blackhawks could benefit both sides.

The Blackhawks get more draft capital while adding a decent depth piece who could become a part of their future while the Oilers free up money to sign Ryan McLeod and bring in a couple players on PTO’s. Foegele would fit in nicely in a 3LW slot, and like I mentioned before could be flipped in the future if need be, and the Oilers give Dylan Holloway his full time spot in the NHL lineup.
