Blackhawks Travel to New York to take on the Rangers
Admist a losing streak, constant trade rumors, and early talk of the 2023 NHL Draft.... The Blackhawks are in New York to take on the Rangers tonight. New York has not gotten off to the hot start that most predicted. They come in to the matchup at 11-9-5 (27pts in 25 games).
The Rangers will look to come out with a lead quickly. They certainly have the fire power to do it as well. New York has 3 players over a point a game (Panarin, Fox, and Zibanejad) as well as one of the worlds best goaltenders. The Rangers will need this win as the next 5 opponents are all looking like tough games.
Nine out of the last ten for the Rangers have been decided by only 1 or 2 goals, something head coach Gerard Gallant will try and end tonight. So, what could wrong? Chicago is on the road, with a long losing streak, and an offense that hasn't clicked of late... That's why tonight could go Chicago's way. They have nothing to lose.
There is a locker room full of mad veterans, well-traveled pickups, and trying to stick young players for the Hawks. They know this is their time to make a statement. No one is expecting a win for Chicago, therefore I expect a lose and hardworking effort tonight. One that could go our way for once.
New York has the pressure on them to win and win big. My prediction is that it won't go their way. I'm predicting a 3-2 Blackhawks surprise victory tonight. Out-skilled yes, but not out worked tonight will be the theme. Let's all put aside the Patrick Kane trade watch / Connor Bedard draft talk for an evening and cheer on our Hawks to victory!
