The Chicago Blackhawks take on the Dallas Stars tonight for their first matchup of the season. The two teams saw a lot of each other last season and getting their first matchup out of the way will be great tonight in Dallas.

Dallas has not been at their best as of late, after a seven game win streak earlier in the year they have followed that up with a five game losing streak against team's like Vegas, LA, San Jose, and St. Louis. Now they play the Hawks art home desperate for a win - Chicago on the other hand is hoping to keep that from happening.

Neither goaltender has been great, with Holtby and Oettinger both spending some time on the ice and losing their respective games for Dallas. The Stars and Hawks haven't seen eachother since last season, and getting that first win is what the Hawks need right now.

Joe Pavelski is leading the charge for Dallas. In his past ten games he has 11 even strength points including four goals and seven assists. Roope Hintz has been the goal scorer for Dallas with 11 on the season thus far, and only one of those goals was on the power play - but he was placed on IR on December 16th and is not expected to play in this game.

The Blackhawks are going to have to pick up where they left off yesterday against Nashville in one regard - scoring goals from the right players. Having Dach and Toews score was huge, and we need more goals from the team's big guns like that if the Hawks are going to beat Dallas tonight.
