The Chicago Blackhawks dropped a tough game last night to the New York Rangers. After the game, we got together for a podcast.

Jeremiah, Patrick, and I got together for episode 12 of the podcast! We discussed the recent Blackhawks game, the Jujhar Khaira injury, and a lot of stuff around the NHL in general. Give it a listen using the embedded player below, or using whatever platform you listen to podcasts on.

While the game did not end on a good note last night, the Hawks played a relatively strong hockey game for the first period and a half. That is what I think it is important to focus on especially with such a bad injury as the team and fans saw last night to Khaira.

We all probably won't know the timetable for Khaira to get back into the lineup for a while, but for now, all that matters is he is responsive. This is what Derek King said after the game last night:

"He's done some tests already but he has some more tests to be done, so we won't know the extent of the injury until after these tests. He's still at the hospital right now, but he's talking, he's coherent. Scary situation to see."

Chicago lost the game 6-2 but it seemed like the momentum and direction of the game really changed once Khaira was injured. Sure the loss looks bad, but the first period and a half was a close game with both teams getting scoring chances and playing some good hockey.

Seeing Erik Gustafsson and Kirby Dach score goals is definitely a positive and I cannot wait to see how they build off of that momentum in the future. Now the team just needs Jonathan Toews to score a goal and for these guys to continue that momentum offensively and maybe the team will be affective in the offensive zone.

The Hawks are back in action on Thursday night against the Montreal Canadiens.
