Number 3: 2014 Western Conference Final versus the Los Angeles Kings

Yes, a losing playoff series did squeak its way into the top three, but for good reason. This series was without a doubt the most painful one to lose out of any series during the Blackhawks' dynasty run. That piercing pain in the stomachs of Hawks fans after Alec Martinez netted the game winner that ended up hitting Nick Leddy and going into the net is unforgettable.

This series was another one where the Hawks found themselves down 3-1 and managed to bring things all the way to a game seven. The double overtime game five in Chicago will forever be one of the most heart pounding games to watch as a Hawks fan. These conference finals proved to be a major lamp lighting fest, as in every game but game 1, a combined seven goals were scored in each game.

What made this series even more interesting was the fact that the winner was more than likely going to go on to win the Stanley Cup. The New York Rangers were not as strong as of a team as the Kings or Blackhawks, and that was demonstrated when Los Angeles dominated the Rangers to win their second Stanley Cup in three seasons.
