Will Patrick Kane be Shut Down if not Traded

Right now the narrative is clear: Patrick Kane doesn't have much of a market. Despite two goals last night, the market seems to have gone in a different direction. So, if Patrick Kane is not dealt by March 3rd (just 13 days away) what is the incentive of him playing the rest of the season?

I believe there is now a real option that Patrick Kane could elect to not play after the deadline if not traded. There will be options for Kane: rest and gear up for next season or have his rumored hip surgery. From my view, if he has played with this injury for years and has been above a point per game player than I'm not sure surgery is the best option.

It could set him back after all and decrease his free agent value. If he plays well and builds on his 2 goal game and than shuts it down, maybe a team would want to add him still with a good AAV. It is all up in the air, but one thing is certain: The next 13 days and 7 games will define this season for the Chicago Blackhawks.
