The 29-year-old scored two goals in the game, including the game-winning goal with 53 seconds left in the third period to give the Blackhawks the 3-2 lead and the win. Donato shot into a wide-open net on the rebound after Andrei Vasilevskiy made a great save on Frank Nazar.

It was Donato's second goal of the game and fourth straight game with a goal, capping another strong all-around performance for one of the Blackhawks' most consistent forwards. The win improved Chicago to 4-2-2 on the season and 4-0-1 in their last five games. Blackhawks head coach Jeff Blashill earned a satisfying victory against his former team, where he served as an assistant coach for three seasons.
