The Chicago Blackhawks kicked off their four-game homestand on a strong note as they ended their four-game losing streak with a 5-3 win over the Vegas Golden Knight on Saturday. With the win, the Blackhawks move to 15-28-3.

Tyler Bertuzzi scored two power play goals, Seth Jones had a three-point night (one goal, two assists), Taylor Hall and Lukas Reichel each added a goal. Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek stopped 32 of 35 shots faced in net and Nick Foligno played in his 1200th career game.

The Blackhawks had a strong first period.

After the Blackhawks gave up a goal from Victor Olofsson, they managed to tie the game up on a beautiful goal from Lukas Reichel for his fourth goal of the season.

Alex Pietrangelo took a tripping penalty prior to the goal, giving the Blackhawks their first power play of the game, which didn’t take too long as they scored 26 seconds into the power play on a goal from Tyler Bertuzzi as he tipped the puck out in front of the net to give the Blackhawks the 2-1 lead.

Late in the period, Taylor Hall extended the lead to 3-1 as the Blackhawks headed into the first intermission with a two-goal cushion.

Seth Jones comes up clutch.

Tomas Hertl got the goal-scoring started in the second period, as he went around Blackhawks defenseman Alec Martinez and roofed a shot top shelf past Petr Mrazek to make it a one-goal game.

Hertl struck again on the power play to tie the game up at three.

Despite the Hertl goals the Blackhawks gave up, Seth Jones came up clutch and scored the game-winner to give the Blackhawks a 4-3 off the pass from Connor Bedard as the Hawks headed into the second intermission up a goal after the middle frame.

Bertuzzi puts this game to bed.

This third period was an intense third period as the Blackhawks have had leads before and have blown leads many times. However, after the Tomas Hertl tripping penalty, the Blackhawks went to their third power play of the game.

Tyler Bertuzzi scored his second power play goal of the game to secure the 5-3 victory.

Takeaways from the Win:

1. Strong Game: One of my keys to the game was for the Blackhawks to lock in and they certainly did that with a huge win over Vegas tonight.

2. Seth Jones Finding his Form: Jones, who has faced criticism for his inconsistent play, had one of his best games this season. Following last game against Nashville, he continued his stellar performance with a three-point night (one goal, two assists) and had 23:23 TOI.

3. Powerplay Surgence: The Blackhawks went 2/3 on the man-advantage in tonight's game, showing why Chicago's power play is top ten in the league.

What's Next: The Blackhawks continue their four-game homestand against the Carolina Hurricanes Monday at 7:30 p.m. CST.
