These five Blackhawks will lead the team in scoring in 2026-2027

The Blackhawks increased their point total from 61 points in 2024-2025 to 72 points last year. With the additions of Patrick Kane and Bowen Byram, along with the arrival of top-level prospects, we can expect the team to make another jump this year. Over the past two seasons, Connor Bedard, Teuvo Teravainen, and Tyler Bertuzzi have remained among the top five in the Blackhawks' individual point totals. I expect this year we see some new additions to that list.

1. Connor Bedard

After sustaining a shoulder injury this offseason, Bedard expects to miss the beginning of the season. Even with Bedard potentially missing between 15-20 games, he will be counted on to carry the team's offensive production. The difference from this year to his first three seasons is that he will be playing with top-end talent.

The beginning of the 2025-2026 season was the most productive Bedard that we have seen during his young career. Before his shoulder injury, he played 31 games and accrued 19 goals and 25 assists, setting a pace for a 50-goal, 116-point full season. If this version of Bedard returns to the lineup in early November, then we will easily see him amass the most points on the team.

Projected Totals: 64 games played, 28 goals, 48 assists - 76 points

2. Frank Nazar

Nazar will be entering his third full season in the NHL. During the 2025-2025 season, he came out of the gate on fire, recording 11 points in October and maintaining a point-per-game pace. With Bedard recovering from his injury, he will most likely begin the season as the team's top-line center. Additionally, Nazar will receive the opportunity to play alongside Patrick Kane and potentially one of the rookies, Anton Frondell or Roman Kantserov. This amount of talent will continue to elevate his game as he looks to take the next step forward.

Projected Totals: 84 games played, 24 goals, 31 assists - 56 points

3. Patrick Kane

Entering his age-38 season, Kane has remained very productive, and the Blackhawks look for that to continue in 2026-2027. He will be playing in the top six with this young and talented forward group while being on the top power-play unit. Kane will be given every opportunity to play on the top units with Bedard, Nazar, Bertuzzi, Frondell, and Kantserov. In the last two years with Detroit, Kane scored 59 and 57 points while playing 72 and 67 games, respectively. If the Blackhawks get this version of Kane, then I believe the team will be happy with his production.

Projected Totals: 70 games played: 18 goals, 37 assists - 55 points

4. Tyler Bertuzzi

Since the arrival of head coach Jeff Blashill, Bertuzzi set a career high in goals last year with 32. They had great chemistry in Detroit, and that has carried over to Chicago as well. Bertuzzi proved himself irreplaceable on the power play. With the additions of Byram and Kane to the power play, Bertuzzi could score more than his team-leading 11 man-advantage goals. Although he may see some of his top-line minutes being reduced, Bertuzzi should still be a very productive player heading into the season.

Projected Totals: 84 games played: 28 goals, 25 assists - 53 points

5. Bowen Byram

Byram was acquired this offseason to become the Blackhawks' number one defenseman. He is projected to play over 22 minutes per night while quarterbacking the team's top power-play unit. Byram will be paired with Alex Vlasic on the top defensive pairing. Vlasic will give Byram some flexibility to be more aggressive in the offensive zone, and I expect Byram to set career highs in goals, assists, and points.

Projected Totals: 84 games played, 12 goals, 40 assists - 52 points

It will be much more difficult to project point totals for the rookies on this roster, but I think we can expect Frondell and Kantserov to join Teravainen somewhere in the 30-40 point range. Perhaps we will be surprised with an Oliver Moore or Nick Lardis to challenge for one of these top five spots on the team as well. Overall, if some of the prospects live up to their potential, then perhaps we can see the Blackhawks challenge for a playoff position.
