This Blackhawks prospect will give fans a reason to celebrate in 2026

Chicago Blackhawks fans will wait until 2026 to see this prospect on NHL ice, but they'll watch him tear up the college hockey scene before then.

Sacha Boisvert's college career will continue at Boston University, and he definitely has a National Championship on his mind. But once his season ends and if the Chicago Blackhawks got some meaningless games on the schedule, expect him to sign and debut toward the end of the year in April 2026.

And Hawks fans will be thrilled when he swaps out his college jersey for his pro jersey and adds much-needed edge to this young hockey team. Yeah, it'll only be a cameo, but Boisvert will show fans and his opponents what they can expect once he's competing for a full-time spot in 2026-27.

He's the brewing power forward of this core and one whose defensive game has some polish to it. But he'll add another dimension of offense to a Blackhawks team that's still missing it, even with Connor Bedard heading into Year 3 and Frank Nazar looking to show fans he deserved a seven-year extension.

Sacha Boisvert will be sending a warning to the NHL during his last season in the NCAA

Boisvert showed off what made him such a dangerous player when he lines up for a one-timer, clocking in 18 goals in 37 games with the Fighting Hawks to go with 14 assists. His score-first mentality will be on full display again this season, and it's all but a guarantee it's what you'll see when he makes his eventual debut with the Blackhawks.

And better yet, he's going to dish the puck around if he doesn't have an opening that can lead to a goal. With players like Bedard and Nazar leading things off, expect Boisvert, when he's finally with the Hawks, to show off that elite ability as a passer.

Overall, you got a generational talent in Bedard and an outstanding supplement with Nazar, plus up-and-comers like Oliver Moore arriving this season and Anton Frondell looking to burst onto the scene next year, if he also doesn't debut in 2026 should his campaign end early in the SHL.

Blackhawks could be showing fans a preview of 2026-27 toward the end of the season

Regardless of what the points total is, it's irrelevant. If there's noticeable improvement with Bedard, Nazar, Artyom Levshunov, Alex Vlasic, and if Boisvert and Frondell join the fray at the end of the season, fans will be treated to a 2026-27 preview six months before it officially kicks off.

And I don't know about you, but if they go out there and win a couple of games, optimism will be through the roof. So keep tabs on Boisvert this season when he's with Boston U, and he might just surprise you with a debut.
