Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks rookie tournament squad will play their final game in the round robin format of the Traverse City tournament tonight!

The Chicago Blackhawks are 1-1 so far in the tournament, and they will need to blow out the Carolina Hurricanes team in their contest tonight to make it to the Championship game.

Alexandre Fortin is expected to play tonight and if he does look for him to be on the same line as Alex DeBrincat who scored 2 goals including the game winning goal in Saturday’s victory.

These two prospects both will be fighting for a roster spot when training camp opens up this coming weekend.  It’s so nice to have hockey being played on the ice, and training camp right around the corner.

The best thing so far for me is that DeBrincat is showing that he can score no matter what the competition is that he’s facing.  I expect him to do the same when training camp workouts and preseason hockey begins.

More from Blackhawks News

Fortin was the big name last year to come out of prospect camp and tournament.  He got a contract from the Chicago Blackhawks because of his play, but he didn’t dominate his junior team even though he was a point per game player last season.

Most people believe both these guys will be starting the year in Rockford this fall, but I have a weird feeling that one of these two could break camp with the Big Club.
