The Chicago Blackhawks aren’t in desperate times just yet, but they really need to get their act together, and they have a shot to do that turnaround tonight when the New York Rangers arrive at the United Center tonight for Rivalry Night!
The Chicago Blackhawks blew a game they should have won on Sunday night when they totally fell apart against the New Jersey Devils in another game that they didn’t really put together a full 60 minutes and skate away with a loss.
Before last game the talk was about the Chicago Blackhawks struggling offense which was having a hard time putting pucks in the net, but the defense had played Ok and Corey Crawford had been pretty amazing. Well of course the offense puts in 4 in the first period, but the defense looks terrible especially Brent Seabrook and Corey Crawford looked even worse.
So now what to expect from the Blackhawks when they take to the ice tonight? The one thing I don’t understand is why Joel Quenneville still doesn’t have Alex DeBrincat the hottest scorer on the roster right now playing alongside Patrick Kane. Both Kane and Jonathan Toews have been pretty silent for a couple of weeks now while DeBrincat has been scoring routinely. The Hawks need their stars to play like stars while playing a full 60 minutes on a nightly basis.

The one thing the Hawks shouldn’t need to worry about is Corey Crawford, because he always has had the ability to bounce back after a shaky performance. He will not like how he played, but it won’t affect him one bit tonight when he’s back in between the pipes.

I was all excited (sarcasm) when the score at the end of the first period hit my game prediction on the head, so like most games lately it’s back to the drawing board.
Final Score Prediction
These games against the Rangers are usually low scoring affairs, so I think Patrick Kane brings Showtime out for a short drive and scores the game winner in a 3-2 Hawks win.
Three Stars Predictions
#3 Star- Rick Nash 1 Goal 1 Assist
#2 Star- Duncan Keith– 2 Assists
#1 Star- Nick Schmaltz-1 Goal 2 Assists
