Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Duck Season

MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM - APRIL 06: A very large male duck attempts to kill a young male Mallard by keeping his head under water on April 06, 2017 Milton Keynes, England.Initially the young Mallard had assistance from some of his 'raft' (term for a group of ducks on water) who tried to free it from the grip of the much larger duck by pecking at it. The larger duck ignored their attempts at freeing the young male. After about two minutes of massive struggling by the victim it managed to escape and shot forwards and upwards breaking the surface to freedom. The larger duck looks to be an older and much larger male who was looking to take advantage of a female seen nearby being courted by the raft of male Mallards. Every time the victim got his head out of the water the would be 'murderer' forced him back under.Picture shows other Mallards trying to rescue the victim.PHOTOGRAPH BY Tony Margiocchi / Barcroft ImagesLondon-T: 44 207 033 1031 E:hello@barcroftmedia.com -New York-T: 1 212 796 2458 E:hello@barcroftusa.com -New Delhi-T: 91 11 4053 2429 E:hello@barcroftindia.com www.barcroftimages.com (Photo credit should read Tony Margiocchi/Barcroft Images / Barcroft Media via Getty Images)

Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks return home tonight to face the Anaheim Ducks for the first time this season.

The Chicago Blackhawks picked up 3 out of 4 points on their Florida swing and now have a 4-1-1 record in their last 6 games. Tonight they get the Anaheim Ducks who seem to be in the same position as the Blackhawks are with an aging core that hasn’t quite found it’s stride yet this season.

The thing about both of these franchises is that for the past decade they have been able to find a hot streak and ride it all the way to the playoffs.  The Ducks biggest issue in the past has been finding a way to win a Game #7, so for the short term they just need to collect more wins.

The thing is the Ducks are better on the road than they are on the Pond in Anaheim, plus if you haven’t seen it

Kevin Bieksa

has been throwing haymakers

this season with only

John Hayden

to take him on if things go a little crazy.

More from Blackhawks News

The Chicago Blackhawks will be looking to continuing their much better play as of late where they are possessing the puck better, outshooting their opposition, and in their last contest the big guns playing like stars.

This season is looking like one huge cluster of teams trying to get in the playoffs, so it would be nice to string some wins together to make some separation from the other teams in the West and Central.
