Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! Yet another day off in a long stretch of minimal games and maximum days off, and today we are looking at Patrick Sharp‘s possible move to the pressbox.

Here’s the facts about #10 this season. He’s scored three times and has picked up 6 assists in 33 games. This is pretty much the stat line of a role player, but not a player that once led the team in points in the not too distant past.

Stan Bowman and the Chicago Blackhawks didn’t risk much on bringing back old Sharpie by giving him a 1 million dollar deal for one season. This basically was the same contract given to Brian Campbell last year before he joined the CSN team this offseason.

Yes, you get the hint I’m saying that Sharp is playing in his last contract at least with the Chicago Blackhawks. Of course there is Michal Rozsival who kept coming back so Sharpie not coming back thing isn’t cemented just quite yet.

One thing is for certain he’s not the same player that we remember.  He’s not as fast as he was and he hasn’t gone on any of his patented hot streaks at all this season or given us a glimmer of hope that it was coming.  Too many nights, Sharp is getting beat to the puck or when he has a chance to score can’t put it where he needs to for the puck to get into the back of the net.

I read one idea on Twitter which I think would be good, and that’s to rotate Sharp in and out of the lineup so he’s more effective when he’s on the ice.  If the Hawks do make it to the playoffs having a fresh Patrick Sharp makes more sense than one that played 82 games in my opinion.
