As the Carolina Hurricanes continue their playoff run defeating the Nashville Predators and now taking on the Tampa Bay Lightning, let’s take a look back at how the Chicago Blackhawks and Hurricanes battled it out this past season.

The Blackhawks have matched up with the Hurricanes a total of eight times this season, winning three games once in overtime and twice in regulation. However, the Hurricanes got the best of a young Blackhawks team as Chicago lost five games coming at the hands of the Hurricanes.

Dynamic Trio

Throughout this Blackhawks and Hurricanes series, Patrick Kane, Alex DeBrincat, and Dominik Kubalik all produced solid numbers giving their team the best shot to win.

Starting with Kane, through eight games he finished with three goals, eight assists, for a total of 11 points. Kane`s best game against the Hurricanes came on Feb 4, scoring a goal, recording three assists, for a total of four points, leading to the Hawks 4-6 win.

DeBrincat also showed out this season against the Hurricanes scoring seven goals, recording three assists, for a total of 10 points. This past season against the Hurricanes DeBrincat had three multi-point games on Feb 2, Feb 4, and May 4.

To go along with that, Kubalik played an efficient series scoring two goals, recording seven assists with three of his assists coming on the powerplay, for a total of nine points. Like Kane and DeBrincat, Kubalik also had a big game on Feb 4 scoring a goal, recording three assists, for a total of three points.

Goaltending

All three netminders saw some action against the Hurricanes starting with Kevin Lankinen who finished with a 2-2-1 record. The rookie goalie made 159 saves, finished with a 3.17 GAA, and allowed in 16 goals in five games.

Collin Delia appeared in three games against the Hurricanes and finished with a 1-1 record. The 26-year-old netminder made 77 saves, finished with a 2.00 GAA, and allowed in five goals.

Lastly, Malcolm Subban played only one game against the Hurricanes and did not end up finishing that game playing for only 29:44 before getting pulled out of the game for Delia. In Subban`s lone game against the Hurricanes, he made 14 saves, finished with an 8.07 GAA, and allowed in four goals.

Obviously, for Subban this was not his best outing and neither was it for the whole Blackhawks team, as this talented Carolina took care of business.

Key Hurricanes` Players

It is also important to point out the play of Svechnikov against the Blackhawks this season, scoring five goals, recording three assists, for a total of eight points. To go along with that, Vincent Trocheck also played extremely well against Chicago this season scoring three goals, recording six assists, for a total of nine points.
