Anton Frondell is off to a magnificent start in the SHL, and it gives Chicago Blackhawks fans even more to cheer for after their favorite team has played better than expected so far this season. Through his first 12 games with Djurgardens, Frondell has been hot, with nine points and seven goals, foreshadowing what might be coming to North America in 2026-27.

And Frondell is only going to get better as he grows more acclimated to the SHL. But the question is: How good will he get? Frondell has already enjoyed scoring multiple goals in games, so if he's making play look this easy in the SHL, his ceiling could be higher than even the most optimistic fan may anticipate.

For the Blackhawks, this should leave them more optimistic than ever about the team's future. Chicago, in the early going of the 2025-26, looks like one of the league's more high-octane teams, clocking in at No. 3 in goals scored on Monday, with 22 of them.

Add Frondell to the equation once he's ready to make the move, and even if the Hawks moderately keep up their current pace, it will be a treat for the fans. The dark days of the early 2020s will be as distant of a memory as the early-to-mid 2000s as prospects like Frondell keep developing and putting up impressive play.

Blackhawks fans can be excited for the team's future thanks to prospects like Anton Frondell

Fans are already watching Connor Bedard and Frank Nazar transform into point-per-game players. Meanwhile, Teuvo Teravainen, Tyler Bertuzzi, Ryan Donato, and Andre Burakovsky are playing well in supporting roles.

That's six players right there, but, knowing Frondell will inevitably land in the Windy City, most likely when all of the above are still in town, it means these near-future Blackhawks teams will run deep at forward.

And here's a not-so-bold prediction for you: Frondell isn't done dazzling fans with his stellar play overseas just yet. Often, you see elite-level early-season play from youngsters even out as opponents catch on to their game and make life difficult for them.

But Frondell is a rare talent who is still growing into what life is like in Sweden's top hockey league. Per Elite Prospects, if Frondell keeps up his current trajectory, he will be a 30-goal player. That signals he could end up in a "pure scorer" role in the NHL, and when you have talents like Connor Bedard and Frank Nazar eventually passing you the puck, success is your only option.

So, while it's wise to follow quite a few prospects over in Rockford, don't forget about Frondell, and what he's been bringing to the table. It won't be too long before he's showcasing his talents in North America.
