Blackhawks Chirps
- The Blackhawks practiced yesterday and had Frank Nazar and Andre Burakovsky back in action and ready to go for tonight's game. With that duo back and Teuvo Teravainen working towards his return, Jeff Blashill will have some tough roster decisions ahead of him.
- Ty Glenn took one more look back at Jonathan Toews’ emotional return to the United Center and compared it to the crazy night when Patrick Kane faced the Blackhawks for the first time two years ago.
- Wednesdays at Blackhawk Up means Jeff Maroon releases his NHL Power Rankings.
- Andrew Ladd will be part of the 2026 induction class into the British Columbia Hockey Hall of Fame, along with Travis Green, Josh Gorges, Malcom Ashford, and Daryl Reaugh. The Maple Ridge, BC native won two Stanley Cups, 2006 with the Hurricanes and 2010 with the Blackhawks. He scored 256 goals and 550 points in 1,001 NHL games with the Hurricanes, Blackhawks, Atlanta Thrashers, Winnipeg Jets, New York Islanders, and Arizona Coyotes.
- Jack Pridham scored in overtime to lead the Kitchener Rangers to a 3-2 win over A.J. Spellacy and the Windsor Spitfires. Pridham’s 29th goal puts him one behind fellow Blackhawks prospect Marek Vanacker for the Ontario Hockey League lead.

The Park Ridge, IL native finished his 20-season career with 319 wins and 43 shutouts. He played 709 games with the Blackhawks, Florida Panthers, Colorado Avalanche, Ottawa Senators, Washington Capitals, and Buffalo Sabres.

NHL Chirps
- The upper-body injury suffered at the Winter Classic will keep Seth Jones out of the Winter Olympics. Team USA announced that Anaheim Ducks defenseman Jackson LaCombe would be his replacement. Of course, this upset Montreal Canadiens fans, who feel Lane Hutson should be on the team.
- The New Jersey Devils placed defenseman Luke Hughes on long-term injured reserve with a separated shoulder. Because of the Olympic break, he won’t be eligible to return to the lineup until Feb. 25 at the earliest.
- The Sabres signed forward Josh Doan to a seven-year, $48.65 million contract extension. He was a big piece of the return in the J.J. Peterka trade with the Utah Mammoth last summer. Doan, who turns 24 on Feb. 1, has 15 goals and 35 points in his first 49 games in Buffalo.
- Back to the OHL, where Los Angeles Kings prospect Carter George became the first goaltender in league history to score two career goals.
