It was a busy day at the World Junior Summer Showcase, with one Chicago Blackhawks prospect scoring, then two other prospects were added, only for one of them to change his mind. Get caught up with your Tuesday Morning Chirps.

Blackhawks Chirps

  • NHL.com released its top 250 fantasy players for the upcoming season, and Ryan Gagne breaks down how many Blackhawks made the cut.

Richard Jelinek has the scoop on two more Blackhawks prospects getting added to Team Canada at the World Junior Summer Showcase.

  • Unfortunately, Xavier Villeneuve will not take part in the World Junior Summer Showcase. The Athletic’s Scott Wheeler reported that he is still rehabbing a hip injury that bothered him throughout the season. He wants to be fully healthy to start his college career at Boston University this fall.

NHL Chirps

  • While Ryan Reaves seems destined to join the ranks of the NHL media, he isn’t ready to hang up his skates just yet. He told TSN 1050 that he’s still hoping to play this upcoming season. The 39-year-old power forward played 50 games for the San Jose Sharks last season, scoring three goals and dishing out 160 hits. The veteran of 16 NHL seasons might have to rely on a professional tryout contract (PTO) for a shot at making a team out of training camp.
  • The Montreal Canadiens and Anaheim Ducks swapped prospects, as Sean Farrell is heading west for Sasha Pastujov. Both players will need new contracts from their respective teams. Farrell played for the Chicago Steel in his draft season before he headed to Harvard.
