Chicago Blackhawks forward Taylor Hall is not sure what the future will hold for him as the NHL trade deadline approaches on March 7.

The 33-year-old is currently playing fourth-line left wing alongside Ryan Donato and Patrick Maroon. He has 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists) in 43 games played this season.

However, his recent performance is not going so well with just one point in his last five games.

Hall is in the final season of a four-year, $24 million contract he signed with the Boston Bruins on July 23, 2021. With the Blackhawks in a rebuilding phase and the possibility of Hall being traded, there’s been a lot of talk addressing his future.

“I came into this year wanting to continue being a Blackhawk for years to come,” Hall said Wednesday. "I don't know if that's going to be the case anymore, but I'll leave that door open, for sure and understand it's a business and that the team's going to do what's best for them. We'll see what happens."

The Blackhawks are focused on building around 2023 first-overall pick Connor Bedard. With that being said, they may have to trade Taylor Hall away to a playoff contender team.

Top Three playoff contender teams Taylor Hall could be traded too...

1. New Jersey Devils: Trading Taylor Hall back to the Devils can be a great fit for him, especially with the Devils on a quest to make a deep playoff run. With Hall’s experience and familiarity with the organization, he could be a veteran presence for younger players like Jack Hughes. His addition would increase the team’s forward depth. Hall played for the Devils from 2016-2020.

2. Dallas Stars: After a deep playoff run last season, the Stars were eliminated by the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference Finals. Adding Taylor Hall to their third or fourth line wing on the team would give the Stars a lot of offensive depth on the team, especially on their bottom six.

3. Boston Bruins: The Bruins are currently in a wild card spot and are seeking to improve their roster for another playoff run. With Taylor Hall as second-line winger could be a great addition to the Bruins top six, adding depth to the forward group.

Trading Taylor Hall could possibly be the right move for Chicago because he hasn’t been contributing effectively. A trade would not only free up cap space but it gives room for younger players to showcase their skill and step up during the Hawks rebuilding phase.
