A few months back, BlackhawkUp released a top-25 prospect rankings list for the Chicago Blackhawks. The list featured many names who fans expect to be a big part of what is being built for the future in Chicago as the rebuild continues.
In the time since our list was released, the Blackhawks' prospects have begun their seasons and have now completed a sizeable amount of games. Some players have succeeded more than others, and now is a good time to take a look at which players could be risers or fallers in the system.
Today, we will take a look at which prospects have excelled to start the season. Some honorable mentions would be Wyatt Kaiser and Nolan Allan who have made the Blackhawks' roster and have not looked out of place, but we will specifically be looking at those outside of the NHL.
These are the notable members of the top-25 prospects list who have exceeded expectations so far this season...
Frank Nazar
At this point, Nazar needs no introduction.
Despite not making the NHL out of training camp this year like many had hoped, Nazar has excelled in Rockford (AHL) and is having himself a fantastic debut season as a professional.
Playing as the top centerman in Rockford, Nazar has become a threat in all areas of the ice and has been able to play in all situations as a heavily relied upon center.
Currently, Nazar has tallied 21 points in 17 games and is looking more and more like the player he was projected to be in his draft-year before injuries.
Many fans have been hoping to see Nazar get called up to the Blackhawks' roster to spark the offense, though recent interviews from Luke Richardson and Kyle Davidson seem as though the team is happy letting Nazar develop in the AHL for the entire season.
