Are the Chicago Blackhawks going to miss any of the free agents they are not bringing back?

The answer is n

The Chicago Blackhawks made serious upgrades through the draft and free agency. Whether it gets the Blackhawks back into the playoffs remains to be seen.

At least all those free-agent signings should at least get the Blackhawks out of the running for being at the top of the Tankathon.com standings.

Adding Tyler Bertuzzi and Teuvo Teravainen immediately upgrades the top six. Alec Martinez and TJ Brodie hopefully help Wyatt Kaiser up his game to make the team out of camp.

What these free-agent moves the Hawks made in the offseason is also make sure they will not miss the players they are letting walk in free agency.

It was nice watching Colin Blackwell hustle down the ice, but Ilya Mikheyev, Ryan Donato, and Joey Anderson are better players to have on the fourth line. Plus, having Nick Foligno, Taylor Hall, and Jason Dickinson on the third line is an effective use of their talents.

Tyler Johnson is still on the market. It is not unexpected for him to still be available. It is a little weird for a former cup winner to not only not get traded at the deadline, but still be on the market. It is not like the Hawks are going to miss Johnson.

Taylor Raddysh wanted to return to see if he could turn his career around. Going to Washington might be better for him much like Dylan Strome revived his career.

Jaycob Megna helped bandage the defensive unit when it was ravaged by injuries, but Brodie and Martinez are probably going to be better players. They are better than Nikita Zaitsev and Jarred Tinordi.

MacKenzie Entwistle and Reese Johnson were not able to develop than anything more than fourth-line players.

The players the Hawks are letting go in free agency served their purpose, but they are not players that the team will miss.
