The Chicago Blackhawks are an Original Six team, but they do not have a long list of Hart Memorial Trophy winners.
Five Hawks players have won the trophy that goes to the NHL's regular season MVP.
There was a 48-year drought between when Stan Mikita won the trophy in 1968 and Patrick Kane took the honors in 2016.
Kane won the Hart Trophy in 2016 after he scored 46 goals and passed 60 assists that season. That season was his career high in goals. It was his second-highest point total as he put up 110 in the 2018-19 season.
Kane also won the Conn Smythe and the Calder Trophy during his amazing career in Chicago.
2016 was also the year Kaner won the Ted Lindsay Award and the Art Ross Trophy. It was an amazing season a year after he won his final Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks.
The Hart Trophy spent four seasons in Chicago in the 1960s from 1965-1968. Bobby Hull won the honors after the 1965 and 1966 seasons and then Mikita went back-to-back in 1967 and 1968.
Mikita also won the Lady Byng and the Art Ross in those seasons. He had 97 points in 67 and 87 points in 68.
Bobby Hull, the man was a very controversial person. Bobby Hull, the hockey player was one of the biggest stars during the 1960s.
He nearly won the Hart Trophy in 1964. He finally took the honors in 1965 with 71 points and then had 97 points in 1966. Hull won the Lady Byng in 1965 and the Art Ross in 1966.
Al Rollins also won the honors in 1954, and Max Bentley was the franchise's first winner in 1946. Hopefully, Connor Bedard will be the sixth Blackhawks player to win the league's regular season MVP at some point in his career.
