It's been an up-and-down season for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Connor Bedard has stolen the hearts of Blackhawks fans with his league-leading 15 goals and 18 assists for 33 points for rookies. While Bedard's been stellar, the Hawks haven't been able to play as well as their rookie star as they're back in familiar territory sitting dead last in the NHL with 30 points.

And with Bedard out with a broken jaw, we won't be seeing his dazzling skills until early to mid March. But, with two and a half months left of Blackhawks hockey, there's still plenty of games in the schedule that will be a thrill to watch.

Here are some of the most interesting games left for the 2024 Chicago Blackhawks season...

5. Minessota Wild vs Blackhawks on Feb 7th

The Minnesota Wild will be headed to the Windy City for the first time this season on Feb 7th. The Blackhawks and the Wild have had a lot of history in the past 10 or so years.

Three playoff matchups in which the Hawks won each series (2013, 2014, 2015), and players like forward Ryan Hartman and goaltender Marc Andre Fleury having played for both franchises show these two team's recent history together has been electric.

The Hawks and Wild have met once so far this year in St. Paul with the Wild winning 4-1 on Dec 3rd. Wild forwards Mats Zuccarello and Marco Rossi took over this game as Zuccarello totaled a goal and two assists and Rossi notched two goals in the 4-1 win over the Hawks.

With the Hawks playing on home ice vs the Wild on Feb 7th, expect this game to be much closer as the Hawks play much better at home with 10 of their 14 wins coming at home this season.

4. Carolina Hurricanes vs Blackhawks on April 14th

The Hurricanes take on the Chicago Blackhawks in what will be the last home game for the Chicago Blackhawks for the 2024 season. Expect the building to be packed and rocking as we bid our boys farewell till next season.

The Hurricanes have been playing fairly good hockey this year as they sit in place in the Metropolitan division with 62 points.

Notable ex-Blackhawks on the Hurricanes include forward Teuvo Teravainen and goaltender Antti Raanta. Both were on the 2015 Stanley Cup-winning Hawks roster.

3. Blackhawks at St. Louis Blues on April 10th

As always, when the Blackhawks and Blues face-off against each other, it's going to be gritty and competitive down to the last seconds.

The Hawks and the Blues have faced off three times this year with the Blues taking two out of the three. The last game in St. Louis called for an electric game as the final score was 7-5 with Bedard scoring a jaw-dropping, lacrosse-style goal on goaltender Jordan Binnington.

This is the final match-up between these two teams for the 2024 season, so expect a high intense, nasty, and hard-fought game between the two squads.

2. Bedard's First Game Back From Injury

A highly anticipated moment many Blackhawks fans will look forward to is superstar Connor Bedard's first game back from his broken jaw injury.

Bedard is expected to be 100% healthy and ready to go in early to mid March according to the team. That puts his return between March 4-10 where the Hawks have four games in that six day span.

Will he make his debut back on home ice on March 10th vs the Coyotes? Or will he be ready to go against the top dogs of the Colorado Avalanche on March 4th?

One thing for sure is that the Blackhawks desperately miss their rookie sensation. Since Bedard broke his jaw against the Devils on Jan. 5th, the Hawks have a 3-8-0 record while losing their last four games.

Expect the team to have a big bounce in their step when Connor Bedard returns to the Blackhawks lineup. They will for sure be rejuvenated when their electric rookie makes his comeback.

1. Detroit Red Wings vs Blackhawks on Feb 25th

This will be the most exciting game for the remainder of the season. Not only will we see the historic rivalry between the Wings and the Hawks, but we will also be seeing Blackhawks and Wings legend Chris Chelios' No. 7 go up into the rafters of the United Center.

Oh, yeah, and three-time Stanley Cup Champ, Art Ross, Ted Lindsey, Hart Memorial, and Calder Memorial winner, along with the 2013 Conn Smythe Winner, Patrick Kane will make his first appearance at the United Center since he was traded in February of 2023.

It's hard to imagine that there will be a dry eye in sight with how much is going down on Feb. 25th. You have a generational defenseman who is retiring his number in his hometown town along with most likely the greatest Blackhawk who ever played for this franchise making his return back in sweet home Chicago.

The United Center will be the most packed it will ever be this season, that's a guarantee. So if you can't make it to the game, it would be criminal not to be watching it at your local bar, at home, or wherever you prefer to watch Blackhawks hockey because this will be a game to remember for a long, long time.
