The Chicago Blackhawks selected forward Nathan Behm with the 66th overall pick in the 2025 NHL draft, their first pick of day two.

Playing for the Kamloops Blazers in the Western Hockey League (WHL), Behm had a breakout year with 31 goals and 66 points in 55 games played. His biggest weapon is his shot as he possesses NHL-caliber shooting ability and has become a dangerous goal scorer in the WHL.

The Blackhawks continue to add size with Nathan Behm's draft selection.

Behm is 6-foot-2, 195 lbs. The Calgary, Alberta, native brings great scoring ability with a strong forecheck that makes him a consistent presence in the offensive zone.

Behm may not have high-end speed, but he has a strong base and moves around the ice well. One area to improve upon is to better utilize his size which will benefit him at the next level. The lack of consistent physicality in his game is an area scouts have wanted to see improvements on.

The skill and scoring talent that Behm brings is apparent, as many had him touted as a second-round pick. He has an eye for finding open areas and uses his quick hands to maneuver through the ice and create scoring chances. His awareness is another one of his strengths, as he sees the ice very well, especially in the offensive zone.

When looking at the Blackhawks' prospect pool, the majority of forwards are smaller, skilled players with a strong work ethic. This draft has seen the team draft players with size and a high ceiling due to their natural skill. Behm's mix of size and skill gives the Blackhawks an intriguing scoring winger to add to their prospect pool, and getting him in the third round is great value.

Most importantly, the Hawks no longer have so many smaller forwards in their prospect pipeline.
